Building a Relationship with your horse?
I think the main reason I’m not confident on my pony is because I don’t have a very good Relationship With her yet. Anything on how to build a good relationship? I really want her to trust me and me to trust her, and I don’t want to give up on her because I believe she is perfect for me right now.
Here’s what I have learned works. As you probably know, horses are herd animals, they are also prey animals. It’s really important that you keep this in mind when working with them. You have to establish a relationship with your horse that puts you as the leader, which means you can not accept dominant behavior from your horse. Don’t let her rub her head on you. Make her respect your space. Treats are good, but don’t over feed them. I also don’t suggest giving them as rewards because then they expect them. When your horse is on good behavior just give them kinda randomly. They’ll be happy and the will associate spending time with you with being happy. Respect and trust go hand in hand. Keep your horse well taken care of, don’t over work her. Spend a lot of time around her, grooming her, talking to her. Never act nervous around her or stressed. Horses are have an amazing way of reading body language.

Many of the unique issues that arise as man attempts to become intimate with God, such as the need for self-expression, the role of our emotions, and the part that circumstances play in this relationship, are addressed with a candor any walk of life can relate to. An Intimate One-On-One Relationship $14.99 “Many of us may believe connecting to the earth and universe can bring a form of “peace,” hard work: “success,” and treating ourselves and others well can bring us “happiness.” But how do we receive “joy”? Happiness depends on what’s happening outside of us, such as materialistic achievements and how people treat us. Joy is what we have despite what’s happening around us — a special gift received from being in an intimate relationship with our Triune Creator…The best of us miss the mark and, at least, emulate sin in thoughts. How we treat others, including ourselves, knowingly and unknowingly, is also a factor. How then do we enter into the presence of the Holy One — our Creator? The significant question every human being from all religions and thoughts should now ask is: “How do I get freedom from the consequences of missing the mark (sin)? How does our Creator solves this challenge for us?”Matthew 16:13-17 NKJV When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”The same two questions remain for us also: Who does everyone else say Yeshua Christ is? Who do you say He is? Your answer to the latter is the most important answer of your lifetime.” |

Understanding People : Deep Longings For Relationship $18.99 “”My burden in this book is to lay a foundation for accepting the simple (but rather radical) idea that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life without falling into shallowness or irrelevance. To reach that goal, it is necessary to see how psychological disorder is really the product of the sinful pursuit of life apart from God.” “Let me try to reduce this profound longing for relationship to a simple definition: Each of us fervently wants someone to see us exactly as we are, warts and all, and still accept us. Because no other human being can ever see all of us, a nagging doubt clouds even the best relationship: what would they think of me if they knew that . . .?” “We must relieve ourselves of the pressure to ‘feel good’ when something legitimately painful happens. Hurting Christians must embrace their pain, not deny it out of guilt. Bereaved people should sorrow. Parents whose children rebel should ache. Wives whose husbands are weak should feel disappointed and angry. Children whose parents provide authority without involvement should feel betrayed . . . Every emotion can be used to push us on to a deeper awareness of our dependency on God.” “People who are designed to know the joy of relationship feel only the pain of separation and loneliness.”" |

The One in the Many: A Contemporary Reconstruction of the God-World Relationship $24 “Classical notions of truth and objectivity have steadily eroded in the face of postmodernism. Meeting this challenge head-on, Joseph Bracken here reconstructs the metaphysical tradition of the West on solid new foundations. Drawing on the thought of Alfred North Whitehead, Ervin Laszlo, and J]rgen Habermas, Bracken presents a new philosophical perspective that roots the relationship between God and the world in community. Bracken first answers objections to the possibility of developing a new metaphysics in our postmodern age. He then lays out the “vertical” and “horizontal” dimensions of his new metaphysical scheme, a constructive perspective that results in a consciously communitarian understanding of the God-world relationship. The uniqueness of Bracken’s position is its advocacy of a strictly “social ontology” in which the classical relationship of the One and the Many is reversed – not the transcendence of the One over the Many but its emergence out of the Many in dynamic relationship.” |

Knowledge and the Transcendent: An Inquiry Into the Mind’s Relationship to God $69.95 “There has been a distinct trend in modern thought to be deeply suspicious and critical of the human minds ability to gain genuine access to any reality that transcends the world or the mind. As such, much modern reflection on the minds relationship to a transcendent God has either banished God from the realm of the cognitively accessible or found ways to evacuate God of his transcendence, and reduce God to a concept or idea in the mind. In this book, Paul Macdonald directly challenges negative modern understandings of the minds relationship to God.” |

Hearing the Sermon: Relationship, Content, Feeling $19.99 “Hearing the Sermon is a total revolution in the “how-to’s” of preaching. It is the result of an extensive study that made those who listen to sermons the teachers of effective preaching. Using Aristotelian categories of rhetoric as a basis for analyzing the effectiveness of the sermon — the audience’s perception of the of the preacher (ethos), the audience’s perception that the message of the speech is true (logos), and the audience’s response to the feelings and identifications generated in connection with the sermon (pathos). Allen explores the workings and influences the three factors have on listeners. He shows preachers how to incorporate material into their sermons that will minimize resistance and maximizing the possibility that listeners may hear and assimilate the sermon as the preacher intended for it to be heard. Allen concludes with an illustrative sermon on Luke with comments that show how the theories of ethos, pathos, logos fit within the sermon text.” |
